I’m not sure why, but I got a little verklempt when editing this session. Maybe it’s because they have 3 kids, too. Maybe it’s because I just love the photos so much and we had so much fun. But, I really think it’s because this session is everything I hope for in a family session. It’s silly and messy and active and full of joy. I used to think that the perfect photo was one where everyone was smiling at the camera. As I have matured as a photographer and a mother, I realize that the photos that grab my heart are not the perfect photos. They are the ones where personalities shine through and the imperfection dazzles.
